Byung-Teak Lee has been
actively working on the characterization, processing,
and growth of compound semiconductors and transparent oxide materials since he joined the faculty of
engineering in 1982. Currently, he is leading the Photonic and Electronic Thin film Laboratory, designated by Korean government as one of the National Research Laboratories and the BK21 Core Research Laboratories. He has served as Dean of the Graduate School, Dean of the College of Engineering, Department Chair, member of the University Board, and member of several academic committees of the Chonnam National University. He also served as a member of the National Science and Techology Council
of Republic of Korea,
a member of the Korea Research Council, and a board member of the National Research Foundation of Korea. He is a member of National Academy of Engineering of Korea.
